A Chicago Tribune columnist recommends Suntheanine for dogs afraid of fireworks. Steve Dale, writing in his “My Pet World” column in the Chicago Tribune, Dale offered a number of approaches owners can take for dogs who fear the sound of fireworks. One of his suggested approaches is giving the affected dog ANXITANE,® a product containing Suntheanine.®
Dale also suggested finding a quiet place for dogs during fireworks, such as a basement, and diverting their attention with music, treats and games. In extreme cases of canine anxiety during fireworks, Dale said a pharmacological solution can be sought from a veterinarian.
Suntheanine is a pure form of L-theanine produced via a patented enzymatic process by Taiyo. ANXITANE is the registered trademark of an animal health product made by Virbac Corporation.
